Every year in November, the Philippines asserts National Childrens' Month. This month-long celebration aims to provide Filipino children with a safe environment, a good education, and access to healthcare. "Kalusugan, kaisipan, at kapakanan ng bawat bata ang ating tutukan!" is the theme of National Children's Month 2022.

 

Jose Rizal, who is the Philippines' national hero, once stated that the youth are the nation's future, and that investing in children is critical to the betterment of the next generation. This holiday is also motivated by empathy. As a third-world country, most families struggle financially, and children bear the brunt of the burden. This month focuses on how we can assist and support them. On November 20, 1989, the Philippines became the first country to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The National Youth Commission (N.Y.C.), the Council for the Welfare of Children (C.W.C.), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (D.S.W.D.) had been assigned with developing activities, plans, and fundraisers to assist needy children.

 

The goal of National Childrens' Month is to provide assistance to children who have been victims of abuse, poverty, natural disasters, or violence. In fact, there was an alarmingly high rate of sexual abuse and exploitation among children in 2013. Under Republic Act No. 10661, late Philippine President Benigno Aquino III declared November to be the official National Children's Month in the Philippines in 2015.

    Weaving the Web: The Origins of the Internet

    Information and communication technology (ICT) refers to the use of various technologies to communicate. It is concerned with the use of various communication technologies such as mobile phones, the internet, and so on. The internet is extremely important, especially in this day and age of information.

    Knowing the history of the internet allows us to discover how the internet revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before, and how people like Marc Andreessen, Bob Khan, and Vint Cerf have helped make our lives simpler and easier, allowing people to progress in almost all spheres of life. It became a tool for us to become acquainted with the data types, how the world wide web works, and parts of the URL and allow us to know the Top Search Engines that we are using, and with the help of the internet, we can share our insights about Internet usage, importance, and role in our lives by blogging, particularly a "personal blog."

    Finally, we must make effective use of ICT. We need to be more conscious of what we are clicking. We must be responsible users. And therefore allow us to share our ICT knowledge with others.
